This RS PRO general-purpose momentary foot switch is waterproof, making it well suited to applications where contact with water is likely. It uses foot pressure applied to double pedals to change contacts within an electrical circuit.
The double pole, single throw (DPST) switch handles well in rugged conditions and boasts a tough, glass-filled plastic body providing an IPX7 level of ingress protection. This gives the component protection from accidental submersion in 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes. Its low-profile, rear-hinged switch is designed for improved user comfort with an all-plastic construction, raised tread pattern and anti-slip pad.
The pedal is medically safe, meeting IEC a60601-1nd UL 60601-1 approvals. You'll find that this foot switch is well matched to conditions where hand-operated switches might pose a safety concern.
