Keithley's 7702 plug-in module, featuring 40 channels of 2 pole or 20 channels of 4 pole multiplexer switching has the ability to be configured as 2 independent multiplexers. General purpose measurement is made possible with the 40 channels, whilst current measurement is available through 2 additional protected channels.
Applications include: RTD, thermocouple temperature and thermistor.
Also known as a mux or data selector, a multiplexer device is used to forward multiple digital and analog input signals in to one single output. in forwarding multiple signals in to one output, a multiplexer allows several signals to share one device. Demultiplexers or demux operate in reverse, they are often used for cost reduction in conjunction with one another, often within communication and data links.
